Verse 1 is in connection to Proverbs 31 which we will eventually get to. It is talking about a wife of noble character. A woman who builds up her family, not tear them down. A woman who prays over her children and for her husband, she provides comfort and correction. She is forgiving. She see's her children and husband for who they are in and through Christ...not what her impossible view of a perfect husband is.
Be a wife your husband and children WANT to come home to.
Proverbs 7 says, "Stay away from a foolish man, for you will not find knowledge on his lips." Delight yourself in God, he will lead you along the road.

He will place people in your life... some long term, some for a short term.Timing is key.
Choose who you spend your time with wisely. Do they inspire you to be a better person, help you pursue God? Are they an encouragement? How do you act around them? I am not saying that you can never spend time with a non-believer... no way, it is crucial that we are constantly reaching out to people... even the non-believers we call friends. Just be wise. It is much easier to be dragged down little by little without realizing it than to be lifted up from sin. Psalm 37:4-7 is powerful- have a read!!

Verse 12 links to verse 7 when we were talking about who we spend our time with. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to know that a lot of the time non-believers and believers don't agree with things. The ways of the world are opposite than the ways of the Lord.
Non-believers do not share in our morals, lifestyle, decisions (most of the time). Another reason why we have to be careful as we are to stay away from things that drag us down, sin that can so easily entangle us!
"He who fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for his children I will be refuge." (V26) I love that!! We know he is able to do everything he has promised... in his time which is perfect. We know his plans are greater.
Verse 30 says, "A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones." We have talked a lot about guarding our hearts because it is the wellspring of life. Envy and strife go hand in hand and will eat us up from the inside out. Do not let it destroy your heart.
