-5 Granny Smith apples (chopped small)
-6 Tblsp Butter (if you don't have apple butter or apple sauce, you can make your own cinnamon butter, you will need more butter than what is listed here though)
-1 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
-3 Tsps Cornstarch (depending, you may need a little more)
-1 Drop Orange Essential Oil (i only use young living)
-4 or 5 Tblsp Water
-6 Large Croissants (chopped up small chunks)
-1/2 Cup Heavy Cream
-1/2 Cup Apple butter or apple sauce with cinnamon OR what I did- make your own cinnamon butter (with butter and cinnamon sugar to taste) SO not healthy ha- but delish!
-3 Eggs (beaten)
-A shake of nutmeg and honestly cinnamon to taste, some people like things more so than others so shake and taste, shake and taste, I also added a couple shakes of the cinnamon sugar!
-3/4 Cup Confectioners sugar (perhaps a little more)
-4 or 5 Tblsp Heavy cream (you can wing this, i kind of added extra here and there if it was not thick enough or too runny)
-Preheat oven to 375*
-In a large pan melt butter at medium heat
-Add brown sugar and mix together
-Add in spices and taste as you go ;) to make sure the flavor is to your liking!
-Add in apples and cook for about 5 mins, apples should begin to soften.
-In separate bowl mix cornstarch and water together to form a runny paste and add to apples
-In small bowl mix up heavy cream and confectioners sugar (this is the drizzle so you want it to be thick but still able to drip of the spoon)
-Drizzle generously over apple dish and serve right away so it's still warm!
(GREAT with a cuppa tea)
