"The Joy of the Lord is our strength" Nehemiah 8:10. WOW! It gets so easy to forget that sometimes doesnt it? It gets so easy to get caught up in emotions of the day, problems from the day and it all just blocks our view of the light... it's like being in a dark tunnel where we see no light, we search and we cry out to God... he steps in and says, "take a look in your pockets" as we check our pockets, there we find the flashlight we needed to go through the tunnel. Funny how the thing we need or person we need can be right in front of us and we are so caught up in the situation, we cannot even see. I have been reading a lot about joy because i am really beginning to learn how important JOY really is in our lives, especially as a christian. We should find our hope and strength THROUGH circumstances not after them. We will always have a long way to walk and our feet will fail us, our hearts will be broken and mended, broken and mended more times than we can count, people wont be the people we wanted them to be, children will come, close family members will leave... Did you ever wonder how you are still breathing, still alive? I know I have before. But the thing is, we were created for so much more! God truly wants better for us and has better in the future- that doesnt mean it will be easy, there will be trials, there will be failure whether its in your job, with family or friends...but God will lift you back up again and set you up for success- let him set you up for sucess. God can provide that JOY that feels forever lost, he can provide that comfort that feels so far away, that friend who you miss so dearly- he can be that friend you never had.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6
^^ I LOVE this verse so so much! Jesus will not leave us alone, he will give us the strength to go on, he will reveal the simple joys and 'bright stars' in our everyday, if we let him!
